14What are best Talon items?
Lets first discuss general items, and then trait-specific items, meaning whether you run Talon with
Enlightened or Assassin trait.
Quicksilver
First of all, Quicksilver (qss) is a must because of Talon's ability and how it works. Usually, you want to keep your carry alive and so you put a Gaurdian Angel (GA) on them, and the best part about GA is it gives your carry a second chance, because enemy units will stop attacking ur carry. But Talon's ability has an innate "drop-aggro" utility. When Talon executes a target using his ultimate, he becomes untargetable and jumps to his next target. So right there, he doesnt need GA.
Quicksilver symbiosis with Bloodthirster
Furthermore, QSS goes really well with the next item which I think is a must for Talon, Bloodthirster (BT), because QSS makes sure Talon can keep attacking without interruption and therefore healing himself and keeping himself alive.
Infinity edge or RFC (Depends on composition - Assassins or Enlightened)
The last item is up to discussion and depends in my opinion on whether you go 6 assassin & 6 enlightened Talon. Because Talon has a ton of dmg in his ultimate, he gets bunch of free flat bonus dmg, so you really want him to critically strike every time he ults. There are 2 ways you can make that happened, either you go 6 Assassins and you get bunch of critical strike chance, OR, you can go I.E and guarantee it that way.
So, if you're running 6 assassins, you don't need I.E, so you have an open slot, and that slot can be RFC/DEATHBLADE/GIANTSLAYER/DUELIST SPAT/DIVINE SPAT (anything to make him deal more dmg), but when you go 6 enlightened you must have I.E otherwise you wont kill targets and therefore Talon won't become untargetable and die. Basically the more dmg Talon deals the tankier he is. Furthermore, when going 6 enlightened, Talon gains 20 mana per attack, instead of 10 mana, and he has 50 base mana, so when going 6 assassins Talon needs to attack 5 times to ult. with 6 enlightened he only attacks 3 times (big difference). This is also the reason I like RFC Talon as third item when going 6 assassins, because of the attack speed.
