After a rocky start, the Habexploder is finally headed to Minmus. Right behind it comes the Columba spacecraft, a rather eccentric looking vehicle intended to mine kethane to keep the Habexploder moving along in its meandering journey through space.
WHY is the Habexploder, a flying space station, wandering through space to begin with? Because! Because SCIENCE! Because it is there! Because we want to throw kerbals into alien environments which they were never intended to thrive in!
Neither the Habexploder nor the Columba have a re-entry capsule or a parachute. We never told the astronauts that we don't actually have a provision to bring them back. We figured it would discourage them from volunteering...
