Here are some activity examples:

(Activity Example) Earn 1K, 12K, and 25K Bronze coins for a total of 350 Points.
This is super easy if you are playing the MOP remix.

(Activity Example) Complete 5, 10, 25, and 50 World Quests for 200 Points.
All quests count, in any zone, old, new, and MOP remix.

(Activity Example) Upgrade 2 and 5 Items for a total of 100 Points.

(Activity Example) Complete ANY 5, 10, 25, and 50 Quests for a total of 200 Points.
All quests count, in any zone, old, new, and MOP remix.

(Activity Example) Defeat ANY 5, 10, 25, Raid Bosses for a total of 150 Points.

Once you've accumulated 1,000 points, return to either Stormwind or Orgrimmar
