Just 11 Customers Was Enough To Reach The Target (Monochromon Shop Minigame, Digimon World)
2In this video you see me attempt to recruit Monochromon by taking part in his shop minigame. In order for Monochromon to join the City you have to work in his shop and get a profit which is roughly within the region of 3000-3100+
When you take part in the Monochromon shop minigame your shift is divided into 2 halves. You get 10 customers in the first half and 10 customers in the second half, which combines to a total of 20 customers. However, your total number of customers goes down by 1 every time a customer storms off. So you'll only get 19 customers if 1 storms off. You'll only get 15 customers if 5 storm off, etc.
Each customer can be 1 of 4 different Digimon:
Goburimon
Gotsumon
Weedmon
Muchomon
Each customer can ask for 1 of 3 different items:
Medicine
Portable Potty
Meat
When dealing with each customer you have the choice of maintaining the regular price, raising the price to a larger amount or lowering the price to a smaller amount. When you raise the price you can raise it by 5 different steps. When you lower the price you can lower it by 3 different steps.
If you choose to raise the price then you will make a bigger profit if you make the sale but there will be a greater risk of the customer storming off. Picking lower prices will come with a smaller risk of customers storming off but you'll earn less money from the sale. Medicine is the most valuable item as this is the item that sells for the biggest profit. Meat is the least valuable item as this is the item that sells for the smallest profit. Portable Potties are somewhere in-between.
In this video I successfully managed to reach (and exceed) the necessary amount of profit in order for Monochromon to join the City after having just 11 customers; 3530. At the midway point I had a profit of 2730. After receiving my first customer from the second half (customer number 11) my profit went up to 3530, which was more than enough in order for Monochromon to join the City, despite still having 9 customers remaining.
I had 10 customers during the first half. The reason why it was 10 customers is because none of them stormed off.
Those 10 customers consisted of:
4 Gotsumons
3 Weedmons
2 Goburimons
1 Muchomon
Between them they wanted:
5 Portable Potties
3 Medicines
2 Meats
The 3 Medicines sold for a combined sum of 1800. The 5 Portable Potties sold for a combined sum of 900. The 2 Meats sold for a combined sum of 30. This came to a total of 2730 just halfway through the minigame.
I had 9 customers during the second half. The reason why it was 9 customers is because 1 of them stormed off.
Those 9 customers consisted of:
4 Weedmons
3 Goburimons
1 Muchomon
1 Gotsumon
Between them they wanted:
4 Portable Potties
3 Meats
2 Medicines
The 2 Medicines sold for a combined sum of 1200. 3 of the Portable Potties sold for a combined sum of 510, whereas 1 of the Portable Potties didn't sell. The 3 Meats sold for a combined sum of 45. This came to a total of 1755.
The profit from the first half combined with my profit from the second half came to a total of 4485. This isn't the biggest profit that I've ever made from the minigame; my personal record is 4860. The reason why I put this video together is because I think that this is a new record for me in regards to how few customers it took for me to reach the target and succeed at the Monochromon Shop Minigame.
This clip was actually taken from a challenge that I did for this game. A challenge where I was only allowed to recruit Digimon if the Digimon that I was recruiting was the same as my partner Digimon. In other words, I could only recruit Birdramon if my own Digimon was Birdramon. I could only recruit Etemon if my own Digimon was Etemon. I could only recruit Greymon if my own Digimon was Greymon, etc. It's because of this why I had a Monochromon as my own Digimon in this video.
