It begins... again.

Having recently learned that this existed, I knew I had to take on the Kaizo challenge yet again. I managed to get through the first 2 Kaizo games legitimately at the cost of my sanity, but do I still have what it takes to conquer the latest installment? I guess we'll find out.

The level design all around is still top notch. The game has the same level of brutal difficulty, while still being technically possible. And of course there are plenty of new and creative ways to screw the player over. Level 1, like the previous hacks, starts off much easier than what's ahead. It's good for getting back into the swing of things, but after it's done, the difficulty gets ramped up considerably.

My biggest problem on this one was hitting those ? blocks at the right time to make the Yoshi appear. If you hit the first block immediately, it tends to reliably work, but it took me some time to get the hang of it. Remember how the other games made you run under clapping chucks in oodles of ways? Well, we'll be seeing plenty of that again in this hack, too.

Something new I decided to add this time around is a death reel. I won't be showing all deaths, just a summation of what can happen and a couple humorous ones. I was planning to keep track of my total death count, but after the next level I felt that there were just too many deaths to keep track of, and the amount of times I die is pretty embarrassing.

This was played without save states, slowdown, etc.
