A test version of KaOS, 2023.09.17, was released and made available for testing. Since there has been no official announcement of the version, we do not know what features the prepared system has. However, in the previous release announcement KDE Plasma 5.27.6 desktop environment and KDE Frameworks 5.108.0 and KDE Gear 23.04. It is stated that the system, which was introduced with 3 , will also come with the latest versions of the software. It is stated that the option to run in Wayland mode has been added for the SDDM 0.20.0 display manager, thus KaOS is one step closer to moving away from X11.
