Hold right against the soccer ball when falling into the room.

The Chill Spike entrance is about equal to Solar Blaze without a ledge jump. With a ledge jump, Chill Spike is about 6 frames slower.

0:00 - New setup, right ball

It's a small window to hit the second Commando Bomb. Too early, you can't shoot yet. Too late, you'll hit the soccer ball. Timing is shortly after Mega Man reaches full jump height.

~0.8 seconds faster (including slightly slower entrance).

Also, since these setups are faster, you are less likely to get touched in the locker room since the lockers closest to the ladder open later.

0:13 - New setup, left ball

~0.6 seconds faster (including slightly slower entrance).

The jump has to be slightly delayed. If you're too early, you may hit the spike. Usually you can continue walking (and it looks like you clip into the falling soccer ball) and continue the setup successfully. If you're way too early, you run up against the falling soccer ball.
