171The Kerbal Inventory System lets you stuff your kerbals and some containers with small parts. You can then whip the bits out, stick them on stuff (as long as your Kerbal engineers have tools to hand) and build, improve and enhance your crafts (or create new ones from scratch!). KIS is a companion mod to the Kerbal Attachment System (you want both), which we'll profile in Episode 20.
KIS comes with a lovely PDF manual you can read in game (put it in your Kerbal's inventory and then activate it) or you can read it over on the game thread. As always, KIS can be installed by CKAN.
