Kerbal Space Program Career Mode Episode 11
0Version .23 is supposed to be out today, but I'd like to finish up my missions in .22 first, before moving on.
In this video, we continue our mission to visit both moons of Kerbin and do science with our new science equipment. We leave Minmus, and head toward Mun. This landing it much trickier as the stronger gravity makes our thrust less effective. In the Mun's gravity our thrust to weight ratio is less than 2, so it takes longer to slow down. We manage to land (don't mind that jump cut after the quicksave ;) ), and get some science done! Then we head back to Kerbin, and almost skip out of the atmosphere, but we do manage to land on our first attempt at the south pole.
While this lander did server us well, I'm not sure it would work well at Duna. We would use parachutes to land, so not much fuel would be used (except at the last few moments to slow the decent to safe speeds), the low thrust might be a problem at Duna. We would also need a much better launcher, as this one barely made it into orbit.
