Kerbal Space Program Modular Launch Pads v2.0 Dev Demo: FSS Tower + Launch
11Had to remake the Fixed Service Structure (FSS) tower into separate parts, much like the Saturn tower, as the one-piece unit I had made caused a lag of 2-3 seconds at liftoff (spacebar pressed), due to too many colliders in a single part.
The new FSS tower is seen in this demo clip; it is made up of four parts: the base section, 2 modular sections (3x and 4x floors) and the crew access section in between them.
The crew access section has two switchable floor types, one for orbiter access via the crew arm, and one to access the launch platform.
The modular tower sections will also have an optional switchable mount rail for the other service arm structures.
