Kerbal Space Program Modular Launch Pads v2.0 Dev Demo: Shuttle Pad RSS Early WIP Update
1Have started work on the shuttle pad's RSS (Rotating Service Structure). Progress has been slow due to IRL stuff (like work) and lots of studying pics and videos, but have plotted out the general dimension limits and completed the hinge mount and pivot pole. The animation has been added as well, and here is an early look at a very WIP RSS.
Beyond the hinge assembly, there's still not much of the RSS other than the beginning of the payload changeout room and some placeholder objects standing in for the outer support structure, put there for planning purposes; they are temporary. :)
When closed, the RSS outer support will clip into the stock launch pad; this was a design decision so it wouldn't be suspended in mid-air when in the open position.
