Kevin Smith has not had it easy over the last few weeks. At a time when he should be joyously promoting his new film, Cop Out, starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan Smith is saddened by the turn of events after tweeting about getting booted off a Southwest airlines for being overweight when he was told that he would not fit in a regular seat. Almost immediately after his first tweet( Smith has over 1-million followers on twitter), the story was picked up by TMZ.com and then things began to turn ugly.
At a recent press junket to promote the Cop Out, Smith cancelled all of his scheduled TV interviews, but granted only one to Tribute, to address the issue and talk about the film. Smith said that the media outcry over the airline incident had been terrible at times and that all they could talk about was the fact that he was overweight. Even though he tried to make light of the incident there is no doubt that he was deeply offended and hurt and is now self conscience about the way he looks.
Kevin Smith is still standing by the fact that he was not too fat to fly on Southwest Airlines but just that some person working for the airline didnt like him and decided to pick on him. He said they wont tell him who made the decision to boot him off the flight and said that there was nobody in charge.
Tribute.ca has the exclusive 20 minute interview with Kevin. He talks with Tribute's Bonnie Laufer at length about the Southwest incident, directing a film for the first time from a script that he did not write, what it was REALLY like to work with action star Bruce Willis and much more.
WARNING: Smith uses colorful language throughout the interview - viewer discretion is advised.
