So here's more active testing with a player with the IGN GreenTea, and yeah, stall potential is definitely a thing. It's safe to say that Desert Tomb has that wretched pit in the center, Ancient Fortress outside the fortress is too open, and Cave of Spirits is just too big. Unfortunately, even the smaller stages like Spiral Tower and Forgotten City aren't without their stall potential. And let me tell you: needing to have Effect Recovery instead of Sky Jump is NOT FUN.

The obvious solution would be to dump Effect Recovery for Sky Jump, but I'm forced to carry around Effect Recovery, even though it's only particularly useful for 5 Powers, 3 of which deserve active scrutiny anyway for what they entail (yes, I'm including Random Effect, just for being able to roll Petrify Attack or Freeze Attack in the first place, never mind for about 8 spaces, awkward shapes be danged) and the other 2 each requiring more than 7 spaces. That's yet another mark against Petrify/Freeze Attack: overcentralization that suffocates 9 other Powers via forced necessity of a hard counter. Even with Effect Recovery costing only 3 spaces, I know my tank build isn't able to spare space for Sky Jump, when most people can and thus people aren't going to run statuses that often anyway even with how they get bolstered by, of course, weapon modifiers. Suddenly all but locking a player's controls other than using Effect Recovery (or Warp, but Warp is OP anyway) is already bad enough that it's the reason why Effect Recovery becomes a necessity anyway--in fact, when WARP setups use Effect Recovery, there's a problem, and I know Eggplant Attack and Tempura Attack are too expensive to justify the expenditure.

As for 1V1s in general? It's clear the game's maps in general don't balance around them well, period. It happens when the game balances around 3V3s more actively instead and provides little in the compensation for the inability to do some pinning maneuvers from flanking. So Power restricting would definitely have to be stricter than in LvDs.
