KILLZONE™ SHADOW FALL - The Father
0Grabbed this on sale a while back, but hadn't gotten to it. I'm honestly not expecting to have my mind blown by the gameplay, but the story seems compelling and the graphics are shiny and smooth. Above is the first 'Chapter' of the game. Not a lot of action, but a good setup of the story and example of the graphics.
I have to say, though... The Vektans were kinda asking for it. "Hey, we just obliterated your home planet... Wicked sorry. Wanna crash on our couch?" There weren't any OTHER habitable planets for them to settle on? Was keeping an eye on the Helghast worth handing a mortal enemy harboring a justifiably huge resentment against your race half your homeworld? Hate to say it, but the Vektans had this coming.
This DOES demonstrate one of the reasons I love the advancement of CG tech. There's a lot conveyed just by the facial expressions of the characters.... On the in-game engine, no less. Previously, this would have gone unspoken, unnoticed or had to have a bunch of text to explain what the character was feeling, but if you pay attention to the Father's face around the 2:58 mark, he goes through what would have been an entire monologue in just a few seconds' of expression. Kudos to Guerilla and the Artists/Face-Cap Actor.
