Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix (PS4) - Prison Keeper (LV1 Critical) *No Damage*
So the boss itself is actually pretty easy, the arena is what makes things difficult. The general mechanics of the boss are simple, he will randomly eat one of the three children and he will do a specific set of attacks until you hit an HP barrier, though his cage spin attack can be done in any phase. At that point he will lose the power and you can damage him until he does it again. You can use a Reaction Command the first time to give yourself more time to damage him but next time he will go into the air so you can't do it again. Each time he is vulnerable, you can get one combo and a single Aerial Spiral before you need to back away.
Absorbing Barrel gives it a biting attack. This attack is quite easy to see coming and block but it's annoying because of the bad arena. It does the bite when he gets near regardless of it's elevation so sometimes it will bite when it is too high making it whiff. Just be careful of when it misses. Also something weird I noticed, I think Barrel changes the boss' weight or something. My finishers have a bad habit of whiffing specifically when attacking after a bite parry. Doesn't do that with the other two.
Absorbing Shock gives it a spinning magic attack. This is probably the worst phase because this is where the weird arena becomes the most annoying. Prison Keeper flies up so high that at the edge of the arena it's near impossible actually hit it. You also want to get in a combo and knock it out of the attack as soon as possible because this attack just kind of throws projectiles everywhere and sometimes you will just get clipped at random.
Absorbing Lock gives it a large fireball attack. This is the easiest phase by far as the terrain does basically nothing here. Just stand back and deflect the fireballs to stun it. It will never shoot projectiles at point blank, it will always back up first.
Once it's down to it's last third of HP, it will absorb all three and gain all of their abilities at once. The fight is pretty much unchanged other then it having all it's attacks at once. I want to avoid spamming limits in this run because I want to actually show off bosses but since nothing happens here and the fight just drags on, I just used Jack's limit. Jack's limit is without a doubt one of the strongest attacks in the entire game. Sora and Jack do damage while in between attacks so you want to space out your hits and only use the finisher at the last second to maximize the damage.
