Previously, the party returned to Beast's Castle, where Xaldin ruined Beast and Belle's evening and stole the rose. It is now time to go after him.

After resuming in Beast's room, they exit to the West Wing (time 0:38). Crimson Jazz will now start appearing in the castle. Just wonderful.

As the party progresses, Donald reaches Level 39 (time 1:05). He gains boosts to Strength and Defense.

The party exits south to the West Hall (time 1:32).

Then, they take the southeast exit to the Entrance Hall (time 3:46). A scene takes place as they appear. Xaldin uncovers his head and provides more insight into the Organization's goal.

Afterwards, the party must do battle with some more Dragoons (time 4:39). Fairly dangerous foes, they are, especially when they do their jump attack.

Another scene takes place after the battle (time 5:49).

Before following him, the party prepares in the Parlor (time 6:16). Giving Sora an Elixir or two is not a bad idea. Shortcutting the Reflect spell is also helpful.

Before getting started, the party heads over to Belle's Room the easy way (time 9:03). There is a brief scene when they approach Belle (time 9:25).

Then, the party zips back over to the Parlor (time 11:09). They head out to the Entrance Hall (time 11:22) and then out to the Courtyard (time 11:33). A scene plays out with Beast, the party, Belle, and Xaldin.

The party pursues Xaldin out to the Bridge (time 12:45). During the confrontation, Belle surprises Xaldin and manages to flee with the rose. You go, girl! But then, it is time for the party to battle him.

After the scene, the party does battle with Xaldin, number 3 of the Organization (time 14:01). And he is quite tough. He has very powerful lance attacks, especially in Critical difficulty. He protects himself with a shield of wind, kind of like Aerora or Aeroga in the first Kingdom Hearts. It damages party members who get too close to him. At first, he attacks with thrusts and blitz attacks. The blitz attack in particular has tremendous range. Sora can block or evade these pretty easily. This is the best time to use Learn to acquire Jump commands from him.

Later on, he will use Dragoon Jump attacks to hammer Sora. These attacks are best avoided. The ball of light that he fires at Sora will home in on him and should be blocked or Reflected.

Towards the end of the battle, Xaldin is extremely dangerous. The screen will go dark, and he will pound Sora with a relentless combo attack. This is best blocked or avoided. After this, he will make a massive dragon with his lances, mount it, and fly out into the chasm. The dragon will sweep the bridge with a devastating blizzard breath. This can be avoided if Sora uses one of the Jumps he has stocked. A Limit is also a viable option, but it will also drain his MP when he can ill afford it.

With all this offensive power, Xaldin is too dangerous to fight normally, especially on Critical difficulty. As usual, using a Form has a high probability of giving you Anti Form, which is a sure way to get killed. Accumulating Jumps is easiest during the first part of the battle. Using Reflect is a great strategy for redirecting his damage, but blocking his attacks with Guard is a better way to learn Jumps. Limits are one great way to destroy Xaldin's life bar, especially in the latter stages. Beast's Limit is quite good for this. On Xaldin's last life bar, a good Jump combo is all Sora needs to finish him off, provided he has enough Jumps accumulated.

At the end of the battle, Sora reaches Bonus Level 37 (time 16:35). Sora gains a Max HP boost and acquires a second Reflect Element, learning Reflera. Donald learns Auto Healing. Goofy gains a Max HP boost.

After the battle, we bid adieu to Xaldin (time 16:53). Bye bye, Xaldy. The party acquires Secret Ansem Report 4.

Then, a scene occurs in the Courtyard (time 17:37). Something tells me the days of that curse are numbered. This concludes the events at Beast's Castle!

Afterwards, the player gets the trophy "A Budding Romance" for completing the Beast's Castle events (time 19:59). The route to Olympus Coliseum is now open again.

The chipmunk mechanics will comment on some strange reading Chip is getting (time 20:17).

At Beast's Castle, the party goes back down (time 21:01). They review most of their gains from the difficult battle with Xaldin.
