Davilas the human is currently carrying out the storyline for Kamiharumui, the Elf capital. Previously, he explored the Abandoned Castle north of Kamiharumui. Before facing the boss in the Abandoned Castle, he has to go back to Kamiharumui to hire another party. The stronger they are, the better.
After taking care of business in town, Davilas leaves town to the north (time 6:34). He heads back through the Northern Kamiharumui countryside and the Phantom Forest to get back to the Abandoned Castle (time 9:38).
At F-2 in a destroyed building, there is a black chest containing Mini Medal #138 (time 11:39). Counting the 43 he has already spent, he is currently at 95 medals.
At G-5, he finds the path leading to the spring in the southeast (time 12:34).
At G-7, there is a teleportal floating over the spring (time 12:50). Examining it triggers a scene with King Nikoroi, his revived mother Queen Agushuna, and Kyuusuke. Except that it turns out really not to be Agushuna. Big surprise. When the king drops the ring into the pond, an interesting crystalline grove appears. Then, the entity that took Agushuna's form reveals itself. It is really a massive spider named Aragne. Gross. There's not a can of bug spray big enough...
After the scene, it is time to choose a difficulty level and exterminate Aragne (time 17:53). Aragne hits pretty hard. She can lower party members' defence and agility. She can charm party members, and she can use a disruptive wave. Her worst attack by far, though, is a spike missile attack. This hits all allies, and it appears to do massive proportional damage. It appears to lop off around 75% of an ally's HP.
A good defense is definitely in order for this battle. There should be multiple allies capable of healing, whether with magic or with items. Bring lots of MP restoration items if your levels are not high. Be ready to heal right away when Aragne uses her spike missiles. As a Minstrel, I spent most of my time doing secondary healing. If the Priest knows Multiheal, it will certainly make your job easier. It may also help if Attack Attacker works on this nasty arachnid.
At the end of this battle, Davilas reaches Minstrel Level 49 (time 25:17). He earns 3 skill points.
A scene takes place after the battle (time 25:49). That's it for Aragne. The spirit of his sister Rita appears. I guess she's free to go into the light now. Poor King Nikoroi.
After that, story time is over (time 29:27). Davilas puts 3 skill points into the Minstrel's Litheness skill for a total of 67 (time 30:14). He also grabs a Super Genki Ball from the chest left behind.
Then, Davilas zooms back to Kamiharumui (time 31:07).
At Kamiharumui Palace, Davilas goes to the throne room at D-2 once again (time 33:17). Minister Kotoru rewards Davilas with his well-deserved Pink Key Emblem. That's eight down! Only two remain: the ones in Verinaado, the Wedi capital, and Doruwaamu, the Dwarf capital. Outside the throne room, the scene continues for a little bit with Kyuusuke. He leaves, bidding us Adiós.
Further rewards for completing this storyline are 92,000 experience and 4,900 gold (time 35:51).
Once the scenes are over, Davilas jumps from Minstrel Level 49 to Level 51 (time 36:01). He learns the spell "Bagikurosu," or Kaswoosh. He acquires 4 skill points. He puts 1 point into Litheness for a total of 68. At 68 points in Litheness, he learns Have a Ball, or Killer Juggling. He puts 3 points into Staves for a total of 39.
Then, he will do a little work on Quest 216, which he accepted in the previous video. This is the vault expansion quest. It requires Level 28 and Fame Level 10. The first item to get is 20 Flintstones. These can be purchased at the material shop in Rakkaran, the entertainment capital.
So, Davilas takes the train to Rakkaran (time 39:25). The crafting area is in the middle of town (time 40:52). The material saleswoman is in the southwest of the crafting area (time 41:48). The item to buy is currently the bottom item on the fourth page, "Tsukemo no ishi" (つけもの石). They are localized as Flintstones in Dragon Quest IX. Twenty are required. These can also be farmed out in several places.
Davilas turns in the Flintstones to the vault employee (time 44:13). Unfortunately, the vault employee next requests 50 Strong Medicines, or "Ue yakusou" (上やくそう). Crap. I'm not sure where to get those easily, short of farming for them.
Then, Davilas hops the train to Juretto to start heading north to Verinaado (time 47:24).
Description continued in the comments.
