Ripple Star was invaded by Dark Matter one day. Ribbon the fairy tried to escape with the huge crystal,but it ended up being shattered by Dark Matter. She happened to bump into Kirby though,who agrees to help her find the missing shards. Pop Star is the 1st stage. Kirby has the ability to combine 2 powers together in this game,so there are many different combinations to try out. Usually,each stage in a world has 3 crystal shards to collect. Some however require the use of powers to grab. The 1st stage needs a Bomb to get,while in the 3rd stage you'll need 2 combined Cutter powers for another. Dark Matter will possess Waddle Dee,Adeleine,and even King Dedede and make you fight them. The boss of this world is Whispy Woods.
