Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Ch. 14 - Circuit Speedway
CHAPTER 14 - CIRCUIT SPEEDWAY
Complete these missions to find every Waddle Dee:
-Save the 4 hidden Waddle Dees in Circuit Speedway
-Reach the first race's goal within 20 seconds
-Defeat Wild Edge using an Invincible Candy
-Boost through the cardboard shortcuts
-Save Waddle Dee 1
The first race in Circuit Speedway is at the very beginning of the stage. Completing it in under 25 seconds will earn you the first hidden Waddle Dee, but you need to complete it in under 20 seconds to complete another mission.
Notice the large stacks of tires at the beginning of the track? These are actually a subtle hint as to how to complete the course.
To begin, inhale the racecar to enter Kirby's car mouth mode. Make sure to always hold down your turbo boost (B) button throughout the entire race. Near the starting line there are two sets of tires that you may want to practice jumping on. Keep an eye out for these tire stacks throughout the course as they provide a quick shortcut.
-Reach the first race's goal within 20 seconds
The fastest way to complete the race is to make sure to stay tightly to corners to avoid as many enemies and obstacles as possible, jump over the smaller muddy areas, and use the tire stacks and ramps to get across any other large areas of mud. Doing so should easily earn you both the 1st place prize and the finish in less than 20 seconds mission in Circuit Speedway.
-Save Waddle Dee 2
The second Waddle Dee is behind a secret door, blocked by a gate. You must first hit this switch on this moving platform, either by manually hopping over to it yourself, or hitting it with an ability. It will open the gate to the door you need to go through just up ahead.
Inside the room, inhale the enemy and get the Bomb ability (Hopefully you've upgraded it already with a past Blueprint). Roll it down the moving platforms to hit the switch, opening the gate to the hidden Waddle Dee.
-Defeat Wild Edge using an Invincible Candy
While in this room, you need to climb the ladder behind the Waddle Dee and get the invincible candy in the chest above in order to complete the next mission.
While in the room with Waddle Dee 2, you need to climb the ladder behind the Waddle Dee and get the invincible candy in the chest above in order to complete this mission.
Once you have the invincible candy, rush back and through the next door ahead, then up the stairs to trigger the mini-boss battle with Wild Edge. Defeat it quickly while you're still invincible to complete this mission.
Once you've defeated Wild Edge, open the chest just beyond it to get the Gigant Sword Blueprint, no other task required.
-Save Waddle Dee 3
Just beyond the Wild Edge mini-boss, don't go into the next door. Instead, look very carefully at the wall to the right in the corridor with the door to find a small opening behind some grass. Go through it to find a hidden Waddle Dee.
-Boost through the cardboard shortcuts
The next race you'll encounter as Car Mouth Kirby also includes two missions: boost through the cardboard shortcuts and the third hidden Waddle Dee. Finish this course in under 50 seconds to save the fourth Waddle Dee - you'll have to use the cardboard shortcuts to do this! Here's how to beat this course fast:
First, instead of following the track, just jump off it to the right. That's right: cheat! Also make sure to just hold B to Turbo Dash the whole time. While Turbo Dashing, look out for the first cardboard shortcut and press A to jump through it.
Jump over the mud - it will slow you down if you try to drive through it. The last cardboard shortcut is a bit tricky. Use the ramp to get lift, and press A to jump while boosting with B, aiming at the cardboard boxes below and across.
Then, cut corners by jumping up the ledges in the final area. Avoid the mud and the robots during this stretch - both slow you down. Make sure to jump off the final ramp with A, or else you won't make it across the gap.
Even if you miss some of those tricks, you should still finish with some time to spare. The races can definitely be a challenge, but don't worry. You can retry either race as many times as you want without restarting the level.
