Now for my story on how I got into the Kirby Reanimated Project.
Backstory:
As a kid, I had never been a fan of Kirby Right Back At Yah (because I was literally 0 at the time it came out and 3 years old when it was over). I randomly stumbled into the Kirby Right Back at Yah series when I saw a video with the thumbnail of a big kirby running on a treadmill. I instantly... Ok maybe not instantly, but I shortly fell in love with the series.
Actual Story
I don't exactly remember how I discovered the Kirby Reanimated Project. I know I saw a couple scenes from youtube, but had no idea why there were animations based on short clips of the show (from an episode I somehow never saw), but soon I discovered the project just to realize that ALL THE SCENES were taken!
I was heartbroken at the thought that I couldn't help contribute to the project.
I noticed the discord server they had and joined it. I talked to the leader of the project to see if any scenes were available, but there weren't. So... What did I do? I stayed around. I watched others' scenes and gave them positive feedback (which was just "Wow! I love this" or "I like this style of animation"), I helped a couple people with exporting their projects or giving my random wisdom when people said their projects were bad (which they weren't), and I just kept staying active on the server so at least I could help out a tiny bit, even though I couldn't contribute a scene.
Then one day, the leader of the project told everyone that 4 scenes that were never finished by their previous animators were open for grabs. I instantly sent my email out to them with my somewhat portfolio (which was just a link to my deviantart and my one animated episode of Oney Plays). I was beginning to wonder if I'd actually get in... I didn't have a lot of animations that I've worked on, and I was pretty inexperienced (I learned everything pretty much on my own). I didn't get a reply on my email when the leader said that the last scenes were taken, so I assumed I didn't get in, but after telling people on the server I didn't get the email, I got the reply that night. I was SOO HAPPY! I told my friends, my family and everyone on discord (without @everyone).
My scene was small, it wasn't much, but it's a step forward in my goal to become a well known animator, and for that I'm truly grateful...
Also, I just really like Kirby Right Back at Yah.
