Parasol isn't the best ability, as it is more of a defensive ability, for example, it can help against Whispy Woods when he rains down apples, and the Parasol ability is weak offensively, so it's good to have some powerful allies to support Parasol Waddle Dee in tough fights.
This Ability has been around since Kirby's Adventure, and even if it has weak attacks, there are some good tricks you can do with Parasol. Parasol Waddle Dee has a unique Friend Ability called Chumbrella, which is very useful in certain boss fights, like Whispy Woods and a few others, and in rooms with a waterfall, Chumbrella is very useful for these kinds of rooms, specially if you have Burning Leo to light up a fuse, this is where it comes to good use.
As the Parasol does provide a Splash effect to weapons, it can activate Splash Curling if you have Rocky as an ally, or Thundersplash when combined with Plasma.
The Parasol Ability has appeared in a lot of Kirby games, along with other classic abilities, like Fire, Sword, and a few others, and that a Waddle Dee is the one to have the Parasol Ability does make things even special, even if we did have a Waddle Doo for the Beam Ability.
