In this fifth gameplay video it's time to show off a bit more of the interface and feedback system in Knights of the Chalice. By clicking the icon with crossed swords during battle a convenient quick menu appears from which (among other things) you can activate character-specific feats (such as Whirlwind), perform context-sensitive actions (such as Breaking Free from a Giant Spider's web) or easily access the spells menu without first having to go through a character's status screen. Also, if you happen to be a real D&D nerd and want to know more about all the dice throws etc. going on under the hood, you can get such info displayed in a transparent and scrollable feedback window on the upper left side of the screen by clicking the dice icon.

As for the actual battle, this is just a small encounter from a sizeable but entirely optional dungeon just southwest of where the game starts. Despite not being directly connected to the main story line of Knights of the Chalice, there's a ton of stuff to do in this cave. Without venturing too far into spoiler territory it's safe to say that you'll interact with several groups of denizens - each with their own agenda - and it's often entirely up to the player to decide how to handle these situations.

Whatever else you do; think twice about attacking poor innocent bears, OK?
