Knights of the Chalice has finally been released and if you care the least bit about Dungeons & Dragons, turn-based combat and the proud, almost forgotten tradition of PC RPGs from the early days of Ultima onwards YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO BUY THIS GAME NOW! Despite many limitations (such as only three playable races & classes and a simplified skill system), I think it's safe to say that no game since Troika's Temple of Elemental Evil has been developed with this level of commitment to providing a sophisticated D&D experience on your home computer. And as if that wasn't enough, the nostalgia-inducing 2D art design and wonderful music is sure to draw in anyone who's ever played a classic PC roleplaying game.

With that ringing endorsement out of the way, I should perhaps add that this video was recorded when checking out the demo for the first time, and thus shows me trying to learn the interface (which seems intuitive enough while at the same time providing an impressive amount of invaluable information and feedback) as well as remember various essential elements of D&D such as spell names, basic combat rules etc. (you could hardly call me a D&D expert). It might also be worth pointing out that the game runs much faster (especially character movement) when not recording, so don't worry if it all looks a bit slow in this video.
