I did a playthrough of the "wireframe" version of the special stages in Knuckles Chaotix.

Once you beat the original six special stages (and have been awarded all six chaos rings), you can then playthrough the wireframe versions. Whilst routes and blue sphere placement is identical to the original special stages, the floor & walls are now transparent which makes it very difficult to establish which areas are floor and which areas are bottomless pits...

Your reward for beating each wireframe special stage is 50,000 points.
