Kunio Sports #7 - Downtown Nekketsu Kōshinkyoku: Soreyuke Daiundōkai (PS4 Kunio World)
"Downtown Nekketsu Kōshinkyoku: Soreyuke Daiundōkai" in "Kunio-kun: The World Classics Collection" on PS4; originally a Famicom game, but here you have the option to disable the sprite-flicker that plagued the original hardware.
I really dislike this game. It would probably be a little different if I had some goofball friends to play it with, because it does seem to be going for a really rubber-bandy, spasmodic, brawly, party game type of thing. Even when I have played that type of game with others, I haven't wanted to keep on playing it more than a few minutes, but at least there was a minute or so of checking it out where it was okay.
Vs just the CPU though, egh. The CPU just dashes along ahead of you, or bashes you and then dashes along ahead of you (this is some kind of bizarre cross-town, anything-goes race); it almost makes it worse that you nearly catch up each screen, because that means they can just do it to you again.
And it's the kind of thing where it doesn't feel like it would be fun, even if I was the one doing most of the bashing and dashing. Even just controls-wise, it seems like you have to keep double-pressing to the side to start running each screen, then hold to keep your momentum up; it's not a good feeling.
