Kunio Sports #8 (PS4) Ike Ike! Nekketsu Hockey Bu: Subette Koronde Dairantō
Whaling on CPU high school hocky teams in "Ike Ike! Nekketsu Hockey Bu: Subette Koronde Dairantō," a Famicom game included in "Kunio-kun: The World Classics Collection" on PS4.
It took me a bit to get used to the passing being extremely fiddly, and to having to control the goalie simultaneously with your field player (!), but basically once I stopped bothering trying to pass, and took to just juking around the opposing center forward and charging at top speed into their goal, it got pretty ugly for the opposition. : o And after scoring 10...20...30...+ goals, the games started to feel really looooong.
The 2nd CPU team I faced was a lot more aggressive, but after going behind, I got the hang of things and was able to start skating it into the net again.
Just before that, I *was* rather proud of my goal slapped in from midfield at 20:00 -- learned that one from the CPU. : P
But faced with another long game of skating the puck into the goal, I gave up. : PPP
Assuming passing can actually be made to work, the game--like a lot of the Kunio games, I suspect--probably works much better when played with human players.
One thing that's a little odd is that during play, there's no score display. : P
