Description:
The continent of Valindis recently went through a war that abruptly ended when a massive explosion consumed the eastern part of the continent. The Kingdoms of Taryn, Escanya, and Gravos come to an uneasy truce that predictably doesn't last long. The one at the epicenter of the explosion, Glenn, is haunted by his mistakes and seeks to find the truth behind the incident.

At the gate to the Vaen, Gwayn tries to force the 8th True King's power onto Glenn, but Kylian takes it for himself because Gwayn misled him about his role and because he wants to use this power to fix the world.

Kylian forces you out of the Sky Armor to fight this form.

Kylian reads the party's mind to get the password and open the gate, but the Vaen take over his body and mutate him.
The Vaen can do some cheap moves at some point, but Kylian will intervene at times against them.

As the party escapes, Asnadiel wakes up and tries to attack them, but Glenn uses his True King mind powers to make Asnadiel stand down. Are the other TKs really going to be allies in the eventual fight with the Harbinger? Some of them seem very feral, so maybe the 8th True King's power is needed to control them.

Lenne realizes Glenn is actually Kylian, and that Glenn passed the TK's will to Kylian. Also, she named a red bird Glenn, but it's likely not the real Glenn's Echo because it's an adult bird.
53:29 Loaned Redemption
Yes, this is the controversial redemption ending, since Kylian's redemption is kind of rushed. It's meant to be a parallel to how Van received a chance at redemption despite not deserving it, but we got to see Van's progress over the course of his many lives while Kylian just got this power rather abruptly after only helping with the final boss, making it harder to forgive him. IMO, a better ending would have been for Kylian to be revived as a mortal until Glenn could determine if the former is worthy of trust. Plus, he could use that time to adjust Kylian's soul so that he can actually use the TK's power.
I guess in a way, it's similar to how Claire and Lechter were treated in the Trails series, though I'd argue Kylian's redemption is going to be harder to swallow for the audience in comparison because those two at least had plenty of sympathetic moments as villains compared to Kylian.
To Kylian's credit, he's at least self-aware enough to point out that Glenn is forgiving him way too easily and that there's a good chance he could squander Glenn's forgiveness. If there is a sequel, Kylian better have a really good redemption arc to make up for this, with INTEREST.
As for Glenn's desire to pass on, people say it's irresponsible for him to abandon his duty, but I think it's even more irresponsible to continue trying to perform that duty while burnt out. That said, I wish he at least revived and tested Kylian as a mortal before passing on his power, or considered other people whose souls he could try attuning.

Remember how June's corpse was lying in Nhysa? Kylian meets a younger version of June whose pact compels her to follow the current 8th True King.
