For a fragile team like Meteor, it's all about hit-n-run. I used Werner mainly as a counter-attacker. I tried to do assured kills on my turn, while taking down the monk as quick as possible, so he doesn't heal the enemy. I took a turn off to recharge my Cherie, and have Werner get rid of the pesky Catapults. After that it was just gang killing.
In general, I try not to use cross-over characters as they are super-limited. Elaine is a cross-over unit, but she's easily replaceable with any other big hitter. She just happens to be a big hitter for my Meteor team.
