Late-Game Minecraft 572 :: Exhausting the Moss Quarry
1We spend most of the episode mining moss blocks today! Using bone meal, we convert deepslate into moss until we hit the bedrock layer! Hauling our moss back to the village, we sell iron ingots and level up all of our blacksmiths to the master level! Close to the end, we finally complete the moss roof of the riverside house!
Applying bone meal to the centre moss block, the moss spreads to the deepslate blocks! We start digging it up with our hoe! We clear the remaining deepslate blocks before moving on to the next layer! We dig out a small shaft in the centre and fill it with moss to make things easier!
Our inventory becomes full! We craft more ladders so that we can climb up to the top of the quarry! We keep our items in the chest before going back down! At the bottom of the pit, we check our coordinates, and we see that we are already quite deep!
Continuing to grow moss, we place down our spare deepslate on the ground to turn it into moss as well! We check the spacing between the torches on the walls before proceeding to grow moss on the next layer of deepslate! We craft more ladders, and we uncover some redstone ore!
Mining the redstone, we grow another layer of moss and dig it up! When we run out of bone meal, we climb up to the chest again! We keep away our moss blocks before deciding to continue mining downwards! We craft more ladders and more bone meal!
We are now at y = -47! We keep converting the deepslate into moss blocks, but we do not find much ores! Whenever we have gathered enough deepslate blocks to fill in the exposed layer, we convert them to moss as well! We place down more torches and ladders as we descend!
After spending quite some time mining moss and deepslate, we find a deposit of tuff! We climb up to the top of the quarry to clear our inventory before resuming! We place the tuff blocks near the centre moss block to turn them into moss, as we do not want them to crowd our inventory!
Checking our depth in the world again, we are now at y = -55! We should be approaching bedrock soon, which is good because our inventory and our chest is filling up rapidly! We build a scaffolding tower to place the next row of four torches!
Extending the ladder, we turn the next layer of deepslate and tuff into moss! We go down two more layers and see the first bedrock blocks! We use up the rest of our bone meal before leaving the quarry! We leave a moss block in the centre just in case we ever want start a new quarry!
Sorting out our items at the chest, we leave a bunch of moss blocks behind as we do not have the inventory space to carry them! We leave the caves with some seeds, some cobblestone, and our moss! We find our way to the aquifer above and swim through it to return to the surface!
Crossing over the village wall, we keep our moss blocks in the chests outside the cleric's shop! We keep the seeds in the farm chest and head to the attic of the big house to store away our cobblestone! We collect some charcoal from the furnace as well!
Crafting more torches, we head to the iron farm! We collect some ingots and poppies! We sell the iron ingots to the toolsmith to get experience to mend our hoe! Seeing that a pumpkin stem has been trampled, we replant it! We also harvest a pumpkin and a melon!
The sun sets, and we wake up the weaponsmith and the armourer to sell off more iron ingots! Both of them advance to the master level, and we unlock some diamond equipment trades! Great! Keeping our spare iron in the chests, we harvest some beetroot at the farm!
After checking that the villagers are sleeping in the correct beds, we sleep to skip the night! Apart from some iron golems pushing them off the outdoor beds, everything seems fine! The next day, we take out our moss and head to the site of the new house!
Slaying a baby zombie and its chicken mount, we jump onto the roof of the new house! We fill the roof with moss and place down some lanterns to prevent mob spawning! We check the light levels around the house and we hear a skeleton! We find the skeleton under the house and slay it before ending the episode!
