UPDATE: This is a LAUNCH 3DS. I've recently got a new original 3DS and noticed the colour of the screen is like my XL.

So really this is a comparison between launch 3DS and current 3DS. Not Original vs XL

Made a quick attempt at giving a closer comparison of the general color difference between the two screens. I didn't go into the whole secondary masking etc to try bring out skin tones and such, but generally speaking, this gives a better idea of the difference that's so noticeable at this beach area in REvelations

If it doesn't seem to be right when you hold your 3DS up with the same scene to compare. All our monitors are not identical, this was adjusted to try match the general color feel I see when comparing the actual 3DS screens with my matte 17" macbook pro monitor that has been calibrated with an i1 display pro.

Interestingly, when I looked at the recording of screen comparing with XL next to macbook pro I felt I needed to increase the general "yellow" of the image to get it more exact, but when I held it up in person it looked closer together. I guess this exact color from the XL (perhaps influenced by the anti-glare?) seems to confuse my camera censors a bit?

Very interesting. But at least you can see here that it is not as extreme as what my camera record compare test 2 video shows.

Note if your viewing on a wide gamut monitor, all browsers I know display the color deeper than "correct", you'd have to have calibrated your monitor and view under a color managed application or more simply just try view from cell phone or tablet.
