Brush Panel
---------------------------------------------------------------------
You can create millions of custom brushes using the Brush Panel in Photoshop.
Sometimes a pencil lead is too soft, and it gives you a darker line than you really want. The same goes for brush bristles or pen tips. If you have the wrong size, shape or amount of wear, you may need to use a different instrument. Sometimes, you'll have to throw them away entirely. If this ever happens to you in Photoshop, you can simply adjust the size, shape, and even hardness of your brush.1. Open up the Brush Panel by clicking Window -- Brush to make sure it's checked.2. This panel is where you'll be able to create and change different brushes. Photoshop has already built many presets into the program. The brushes that have drawings instead of the icon of what the brush looks like when you use it are called "bristle brushes." If you have a Wacom or any other tablet and you click on the "eye" at the bottom of the panel, you'll see an indicator on the screen that shows you the angle you're holding your pen at on your tablet, and it also shows you how much pressure you're applying when you draw a stroke.3. If you choose a brush with longer bristles, you'll find that they actually spread out according to how much pressure you apply with your pen on the tablet.4. You can create your own brush by choosing one of the presets and changing the shape, size, angle, hardness and spacing of the brush. Use the sliders in the panel and play around with them until you can create a brush that resembles what you're looking for.5. Since you're working with the brush presets, if you create a brush you're really fond of with the attribute sliders and you wish to keep it, you can save it as a preset and add it to the current ones to use for another time.
