Mahalo expert Sean Hewitt shows you how to use the Paint program in Windows 7.
Painting in Windows 7
---------------------------------------------------------------------
To access the Windows 7 paint program, click on the
Start button in the bottom left of the Taskbar. Type-in "paint" in the search engine and hit enter on your keyboard. This will open the Paint window.
Click and drag an image you would like to paint on into the Paint canvass. You can increase the canvas size by clicking and dragging a corner of the canvass to expand it.
To move an image on the canvass, click on the Select tool in the upper menu. This will turn your cursor into a cross hairs. Click and drag the cross hairs over the image, which will create a box around it. Now drag the image wherever you would like on the canvas.
If you would like to create a duplicate of the image, hit the Control key and move the image. This will drag a duplicate copy of the image on your canvas.
Click on the Brushes tool in the above menu to paint with a variety of different brushes. Style, thickness and density are all adjustable. You can even add objects by clicking on the various shapes in the above menu.
To change the color of your left click, click on Color 1 in the above menu and select one of the many colors located in the menu to the right. To change the color of your right click, click on Color 2 right next to Color 1 and select another color.
If you click on Edit Color next to the various color options, it will prompt a new window in which you can create a new color to your liking by mixing colors accordingly.
The eye-dropper (located in the Tools section of the menu) allows you to take a color from one object/image and use it elsewhere. By placing the cursor over the desired color, click once and go back to Brushes. You will now paint with the exact same color that you selected.
Lastly, you may also add text by clicking the A button within the Tools section. Click and drag over the canvas to create a text field in which you can type whatever text you like.
