Installing Programs in Windows 7
---------------------------------------------------------------------
1. After you download your install package, double-click its icon on your desktop, followed by Yes to allow the program to make changes. Each program will have a different variety of menus to work through before the installation is complete.
2. Read all the information for the introductory menu and click Next.
3. The following window is generally a License Agreement. Depending on how you want to use the software, you may want to read all of the information before clicking I Agree.
4. The next window will be a Choose Install Location window. Unless you want to specify a different location, click Next as the default location is generally appropriate for the program.
5. In the Choose Components window, make sure you check the items you need to install and nothing more then click Next.
6. Choose Start Options is where you can choose a name for the startup, as well as opt to Create Start menu entry, Quick Launch and Desktop icons. Once you have customized these options, click Next.
7. The next window in this example is Get the Most Out of Winamp. Frequently, you will find that programs you are installing come with extra features you will not want or need. Uncheck any of the components you do not want to be apart of the program and click Install.
8. A progress bar will be activated, showing you what stage of the installation your program is at. Commonly, a program will give you the option to launch itself immediately after installation is complete and you have closed the installer. Uncheck the appropriate box if you do not want this to happen.
9. Click Finish and the program will be installed. You will find its corresponding icon located on your desktop, in addition to your Start menu.
