Right, then. Let's give this another shot, shall we?

Assuming that you're standing in the correct spot to avoid instant griffin murder, the plasma gate will drop at just the right time for you to avoid falling and/or getting et by a griffin. You'll still take a bit of scratch damage, but it beats not continuing in the game. Wait, no. It beats having to do this section over. There, that's better.

You'll notice that at one point about a third of the way through I get hit and then open fire, completely missing the thing that hit me before the crosshairs jerk back down towards him. For some reason, getting hit will rarely disable your ability to properly aim with the mouse for a second or so. I have no idea as to why this would even happen.

You'll also notice a dead medusa on the table in the foreground at 6:59. So there *were* other creatures in Pandora's Box, they just didn't appear in the game. Man, you could've just given them the werewolf AI. Who's going to notice?
