Country music legend Joe Diffie has died at the age of 61.

Adkins Publicity announced Diffie's passing in a press release on Sunday, two days after the singer revealed he tested positive for COVID-19.

Many of Diffie's peers and the artists he influenced, as well as others in the country music industry shared their condolences after news broke of his passing Sunday afternoon.
