As it seems, Team Reptile couldn't find a way to add Ranked battles to the Switch version. Not that it matters to me, as I probably wouldn't play on Ranked as long as I can find opponents in Free Battle. I would also prefer it if I can get more than two people per match and have those power-ups on, the ones that spawn from the ceiling, but I'd run into the same issue as in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, where I prefer to play under chaotic rulesets, which clash with what appears to be the majority who would rather not. Someone like me actually benefits from there NOT being a Ranked mode, since it means I'm more likely to find people in Free. I was actually dreading the implementation of a Ranked mode, since past experiences in games like Puyo Puyo Tetris and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS meant players would likely mostly migrate to Ranked, leaving Free Battles something of a ghost town.

Well, this is what I can infer anyway, as I can't see my opponents' rulesets. However, they tend to rather not wait for more people to arrive, and I almost never see the power-ups appear on the ceiling. YuuGiJoou, whom I played against for five of the six matches in this video, is not one of those people though, which is a relief.

Not sure if I mentioned it before, but "Lethal League" is a pun on "Little League." It took me a few months after getting this game to figure that out. Now it's so obvious in hindsight.

Match #13
Scrap Desert
I AM PLAYER 1 (Toxic)
Opponents:
PLAYER 2: MMarc (Raptor)
Song: "Decible" by Frank Klepacki
This match was notable for me because it set a new ball speed record for me. (And yes, this means that I have yet to hit 1 million speed units for the ball, which is one of the unlock requirements for a special Doombox costume.) The round lasted 45 seconds, which is an awfully long time for Lethal League Blaze. Everything is relative.

Match #14
New Rise District
I AM PLAYER 2 (Raptor)
Opponents:
PLAYER 1: YuuGiJoou (Dust & Ashes)
Song: "Whipz" by Dfast
After this, we got our old comrade YuuGiJoou, who has sparred with me in various games since Pokémon Battle Revolution over 10 years ago. Seems YuuGiJoou has learned the ins and outs of this game independently of me and has the edge over me, as there is a particular plateau that hasn't really clicked with me, though I attribute that in large part to my risk aversion.

Match #15
Room 21
I AM PLAYER 2 (Jet)
Opponents:
PLAYER 1: YuuGiJoou (Latch)
Song: "Ordinary Days V2" by Klaus Veen
The first version of "Ordinary Days" is in this game, but to my knowledge, it plays in a stage that you can't use online. I was using Jet in her Hydrodynamic outfit, which you unlock, if I recall correctly, by finishing Arcade Mode as Jet without using any continues. I find it a bit amusing that she opens her visor during her taunt. I don't know of any other characters' special costumes with different animations than usual.

Match #16
The Sewers
I AM PLAYER 2 (Candyman)
Opponents:
PLAYER 1: YuuGiJoou (Sonata)
Song: "Thuggin" by Doctor Lazer
Rounding out both the stages and the characters is this match--as of this one, I've shown every online-available stage and every character in the roster for the April 4th, 2020 session. Sonata is one of the least-seen characters online, at least from my end, but she is one of the scariest to deal with because she has long reach with that hammer and because her special move effectively gives her unlimited control of the ball as long as it doesn't hit an edge of the stage, as you can see in how Burst 3 ended.

Match #17
New Rise District
I AM PLAYER 2 (Switch)
Opponents:
PLAYER 1: YuuGiJoou (Latch)
Song: "Whipz" by Dfast
I think of the many matches played on New Rise District, this was the only one to have reached its "intense" phase, when the ball's speed exceeds 250. The elevator starts falling downwards, reaching the bottom floor. At this point, YuuGiJoou seems to have figured out a big weakness of mine: I have problems dealing with fast-moving low balls.

Match #18
The Subways
I AM PLAYER 2 (Dice)
Opponents:
PLAYER 1: YuuGiJoou (Jet)
Song: "Ain't Nothin' Like a Funky Beat" by Hideki Naganuma
And here is the last match before I stopped. I was getting hungry, but that's evident if you look at the clock in this match--the dot-matrix display shows the actual system clock time--if it weren't for how, for some reason, it never displayed the time for this match. (The weather, on the other hand, always reads as sunny, and the temperature is always between 16 to 19 degrees Celsius. It was about 1:25 PM when this match began.) I prefer to end videos of Lethal League Blaze with matches that go on to the final round, because then you can't tell who will win just by seeing the remaining time on the video, but this one happened to wind up this way.
