Worldwide version. This is the final game in my Yuichi Toyama + Kazuyuki Nakashima journey (for now). The two later worked together on Shippu Mahou Daisakusen (Kingdom Grand Prix), Soukyugurentai, and Great Mahou Daisakusen (Dimahoo).
Sorcer Striker is a solid game regardless of difficulty (it's easier than Spriggan or Musha set to Hard), but it lacks a bit in variety and boss complexity compared to ToyaShima's previous games. The arcade tendency to eschew enemies from behind doesn't gel right with the Irem-influenced stage design still being used here, and as a result most of the game is camping. Based on this game and its sequel, I'd say their work at Compile in the vertizontal format better deserves checking out.
