Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.

In this episode we finally start transforming the data we get from the backend into something we can actually see on the frontend. Today we are taking a look at the trending news section of the explore page and making it so we can display the top 4 pieces of news at this time. To do this we start out by creating a new component for the explore for you news section of the page, inside of the component, we setup a basic title, as well as another new component which displays each news topic as a card. Once we have the news cards setup we map through and render a news card for each news topic passed from the backend. We wrap up the episode by styling everything and making sure it looks good.
