Building large scale application is more difficult than many people understand or expect. Join me in this long running series where I set out to duplicate one of the most popular social media platforms ever creating using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, PostgreSQL data, React JS web application framework and more.

In this episode we switch focus to updating our view system to be able to process views more in real time. We are specifically focusing on setting up the backend functionality to process the views as the frontend sends them to us. To start out we need to create a couple of new models to store the views. Then we update the PostService and PostController in preparation for the new logic. Once we have cleaned up the old logic we created a new PostViewService to handle the views as they come in, we will now be using websockets and a multithreaded approach. Finally, to wrap up the video we setup new controller endpoints to handle the views, and also allow the frontend to fetch the users location.
