We proceed to the mage's tower, wherein we might find the ingredients Omeluum needs. Naturally it's well-defended by magical turrets, though our only death comes from accidental friendly fire, by way of a poorly-aimed push. Thus begins a rivalry that will endure through the session, though at least death by ringout (almost) also works on the robot running the place. We even find time to check off the Masterwork quest before riding out to Grymforge, our next stop on the way to Moonrise.

Despite our hustling, however, the friendly mind flayer's concoction fails; in fact, the tadpole only seems to grow stronger. When even the creature with face tentacles is weirded out by what it's seeing, you know you're in some real trouble.
