The House of Ballads really, really sort of....irks me. If the Maid of Windemere, Nix, and Bloody Bones were also individuals who were selected to play the parts it would be one thing. They'd essentially be immortal re-enactment enthusiasts with a bit of magical heft to them. But no, it feels very much like what they're doing is just recycling the villains over and over forcing them to relive the same sequence of stories and defeat. Never even allowing them to take actions away from their past stories. That said, with my failure to uncharm everybody, I was heavily tempted to kill the Maid...but no, she's STILL be hedged into this sequence over and over. Even if the first occurrence was her choice and evil of a misguided sort, the repetitions that followed were not her will. This sequence, where things changed...yeah she's gone evil again, but I'm on her side here. What the Ballad have been doing is monstrous. And that's not entirely just my bias because the words you hear from Bloody Bones and the Maid imply that this situation is unique among Fae as well.
