The Hylian Shield has been in almost every 3D Zelda console-based game to date. It's part of Link's typical equipment set, going hand-in-hand with the Green Tunic and Master Sword. Its appearance has changed throughout the series, and the version I'm modeling is that from Skyward Sword.
Oddly, this took me twice as long to model as the True Master Sword, with the majority of the effort going into getting the topology for the front of the shield to be somewhat decent. I decided to use Adobe Illustrator in addition to Photoshop to do the texturing, as it works well with my new Graphics Tablet.
