Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition is a remaster of Age of Empires III and its expansions. It features graphical upgrades, UI improvements, quality of life, gameplay changes, new game modes and new civilisations.

The game was developed by Tantalus Media and Forgotten Empire, and published by Microsoft's Xbox Game Studios on October 15, 2020, for Windows.

The Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition adds two new factions: the Swedes, an aggressive civilisation, and the more defensive Inca. Other changes include various changes to increase historical accuracy and reduce stereotyping.

New game modes include Historical Challenges as well as Art of War Challenge scenarios. Among other things, the flags of many civilisations were revised, new revolutionary countries are available, and all cards are automatically unlocked for multiplayer.

Additionally, a cooperative mode for the Historical Battles was added to the game in 2022, allowing two players to play these scenarios together.
