Let's Play: Among the Sleep
Among the Sleep is not the game I expected it to be. To be fair, I didn't know too much about it before hand other than we are a 2 year-old in, seemingly, a nightmare. It turns out that it's actually a game about a two year-old processing the trauma of having an unfortunate home life. I was not expecting nor prepared for that so uhhhh... possible trigger warnings I guess?
Overall I think I enjoyed the game? At the very least the broad strokes were enjoyable. I like the game taking the aspect of a 2 year-old, and how different/scary the world can be. I liked that you actually fall over if you run for too long. I liked a lot of the visual design, and most of the puzzles were pretty decent. I did not enjoy the enforced stealth section 2/3rds of the way through, some of the puzzles overstay their welcome, and some of the level design is confusing (which could have been by design).
I'm not going to sit here and say I truly enjoyed the game, but I am still thinking about it days later, and that's probably saying more than anything else. If nothing else, the content of the game got my brain thinking, and that's not nothing.
