Let's Play Armello 05: Of The Wyld and Rot (Tutorial)
186In the final video of the tutorial we're introduced to the final of the original four characters, Sana of Clan Bear. Being in touch with the Wyld and still believing in the mysterious and legendary druids, her clan have sent her to Armello to investigate the signs of the returning of a great evil to the lands, one that could spell a new age of darkness and death for all. Are the rumours true and if so, can it be stopped?
In this video we'll be introduced to the final layer of gameplay in Armello; the rot, the ways to combat it and the four ways to win a match of Armello. With Sana we now have a full game of four heroes, the standard number that are playing in any match. Each one has their own goals, motives and resources making it all the more difficult to succeed in your own. Alliances will be founded and broken, heroes will fall in fair combat and to knives in the back, spells will be flung across the lands to heal and harm, impede and assist. Such is the world of Armello; a land of combat, strife and intrigue.
This video also inadvertently shows the many ways that random chance can either greatly help or hinder your efforts. This tutorial video is the longest by far because one way or another, things occur that prevent me from continuing the story. Random chance has it's part to play in Armello and here is no exception.
It's also safe to say that the king may in fact be going crazy, his presence causing great harm to the kingdom as darkness spreads across the land, a darkness spreading from the king's corruption. There is only one thing that can be done; the king must be stopped. How is up to you but one things for sure, there must be a new ruler of Armello and that cannot happen while the king is alive.
Next time we shall see if I can win a full game of Armello against the AI opponents. Will I triumph and be crowned the new ruler of the lands or will I be forgotten as the deeds of other heroes outshine my own, their steel sharper then mine and their schemes more cunning?
We shall see.
This video was recorded before the recent patch adding a recent patch which had a selection of minor hotfixes for various issues. This game also had some sound balancing issues with some of their sound effects at the time of recording. This has been passed on to the creators by various people and so hopefully with the patch that has been rectified and so next time I record it won't be an issue.
