Let’s Play BG2 EE #02: Importing Our Character
381This video has no gameplay and is entirely devoted to importing my character from the first game. Those that wish to go to the game proper are free to skip this video and move on to video three.
Creating a character from scratch for this game is a perfectly viable, with any character made at this point fully capable of completing the game. That you can import your protagonist from the first game however is an extra treat that not only lets you keep your experience gained and stats, but it has a few other subtle differences too. Some items that you got in the first game ‘carry over’ to this one in a way, allowing you to collect them again. Some of them will quickly be outclassed by things you get early on but others won’t, it all giving that extra feeling of continuity to the series.
You’re also free to make some alterations to your character, including adjusting the class kit that they have the colour of their clothing. A different voice is sadly a must due to them not having the original voice packs in this game, but I’m sure we’ll find one to suit Terri. I’m otherwise keeping her unaltered as none of the class kits fit her character.
