Through Terri’s party is hardly what it was compared to the end of her last adventure, her choices are terribly limited. She’s not foolish enough to try and escape alone and so will gladly make temporary alliances with other prisoners. There’s safety in numbers after all and she can even trust one of them. Imoen is an old friend and despite them not travelling together, Terri can trust her to watch her back. The other two she’s not so sure about, especially Minsc; she remembers all too well what happened when she last encountered that man.

The rat-tag group are as ready as they’ll ever be to try and escape the prison they find themselves in and so it’s off to do some dungeon-delving in reverse. It’s very similar to normal dungeon exploration save that we’re starting deep in the dungeon and are trying to work our way back to surface. Along the way we’ll encounter enemies, traps, puzzles and no small amount of inter-party dialogue. Compared to the first game, Baldur’s Gate 2 has a lot more interaction between your party members at the expense of a significantly reduced pool of characters available to join your party. This isn’t a bad thing per-say, as I’d much rather have fewer better designed characters then many less-well designed ones, but only with this version of the game was the problem of not having enough evil characters for a full party solved. This limits our choices for part composition drastically but we’re thinking too far ahead of ourselves at this point. First step is getting out of here, then we can think about who we want travelling with us for the long term.
