In this Let's Play video, you will see me play Capes (Full Release Version). We continue the game with a simulation mission to level some heroes before doing the Hard Patrol Mission Tech Support. It was definitely a fun and challenging experience playing this game. We completed all the Optional Objectives for Tech Support. This game releases May 29th. Capes is a story driven Super Heroes Tactical Turn-Based game that plays similar to XCOM in terms of Missions Combat (that's about it). Unlike XCOM, it's not focused on base building or expendable soldiers (no equipment, no researching, no crafting). It's closer to XCOM: Chimera Squad than XCOM/XCOM2. It focuses on Story Heroes and doing Missions to gain SP (skill points) and XP (experience points) for leveling your Super Heroes. The missions are predesigned maps (no random procedurally generated ones). The Story Premise is like the TV Show Heroes, where people with super powers are feared and hunted by the "Company". You start off playing with 2 heroes (Facet and Rebound) on your team and recruit new ones (via story) as the game progresses. Your SP is a limited resource that is earned from missions which can be assigned to any of your heroes. I really like the Comic Book vibe and art style with the comic bubble dialogues and narration caption boxes. Each heroes have very unique special skills and work really well with each other. The game also has an interesting "team-up" mechanic that allows characters to share/enhance powers when within range of each other. You can take up to 4 Heroes on a mission (depending on mission design). Heroes can't permanently die, only "KO" (knocked out) during a mission.
