This is also my first playthrough through this game. Kindly avoid posting spoilers in the comments or solutions to puzzles either in this video or future ones so as not to spoil the experience for me or those that haven’t seen the game before.

Bravo Marine has arrived in the infernal realm and, much like the Engineer in later years, they’ve managed to do so with all their equipment. This is good because we don’t have a Martian artefact to help us deal with the large number of demons who are likely very intent on stopping us from reaching the UAC outpost that contains the teleporter. Our task is a simple one: get to the teleporter and set it up so that Dr Meyers can send the surge that will render it inoperable, saving humanity from the threat of direction invasion.

Of all the infernal realms that we’ve seen in this game, I have to say that this one is the best of the three. It’s not only got that vast, barren lifelessness down to a tee, it also most feels like the previous games. The skyboxes of Doom 1 and 2 were just as bleak as this place is and you could imagine the jagged mountains teeming with demons that wait under the blood red sky for a hapless mortal to foolishly wander into their domain. We may be foolish but we’re far from hapless, armed as we are with the best the UAC has to offer and filled with determination to see this mission through.

Let’s hope that’s going to be enough.
