This is also my first playthrough through this game. Kindly avoid posting spoilers in the comments or solutions to puzzles either in this video or future ones so as not to spoil the experience for me or those that haven’t seen the game before.

I hope there’s a second step to this plan because if there isn’t, we’re going to be stranded in the infernal realm forever. I also hope that the demons don’t do anything to stop us from- Oh, who am I kidding? Of COURSE the demons are going to try and stop us. It wouldn’t be a good final encounter if they didn’t. The only question at this point is what they can throw at us that they aren’t already flinging at the Marine from the original game.
I came into the Lost Mission thinking it would be a disjointed set of discarded levels and incomplete ideas but my, was I wrong. The creators of this did a wonderful job of not only weaving a great story but also making a very cohesive and challenging adventure that slots right in to the original narrative. I expected it to be short and it proved even shorter than I thought it would be but that doesn’t detract from how fun it was to play. The enemy and weapon progress was just right, the fight challenging and all the while, the narrative kept things flowing greatly. I honestly have no complaints save its length but there was likely only so much cut content that would fit into what they had in mind. Though it’s wishful thinking, I’d like developers to do things like this more often, creating extra stories from what was originally left behind and presenting it as a little extra something for us to enjoy. If you’ve been looking at this and dismissing it, I encourage you to reconsider and experience something that’s very much worth your time.
So, what’s next? You may think that we’re done with this game but there’s one final thing that needs to be completed, an extra added on to something we’ve already played through. Nerve Software released an extra episode to Doom 2 for their Xbox 360 port of the game and it’s that version that is in this game. It’s one of the few officially released bits of classic Doom that I’ve yet to play and so it’s time I put that right by seeing if I can handle something designed for the power of systems not released in the 90s.
